edX with Active Directory

Hello everyone,

For a school project we have to work with edX and integrate the school's LDAP server.

I've installed edX fullstack on virtualbox and i wrote a little python script which makes me connect to the schoolserver.

So i installed on my linux the following packages:  libldap2-dev and libsasl2-dev and python-ldap.

So when i typ in python in the command shell i get the python shell and i import scriptname.

I get "done" printed so i guess i'm connected with the school's LDAP.

My question is how do i integrate this with edX? I want to log in on the LMS with my school credentials.

I hope someone can help me out!

Did you try to install Django LDAP?

Dear Pedro,

Thank you for responding. I must confess i'm not really at home in this edX / linux thing. As you can see i just build this little script which makes me test the connection i guess.

Could you give me like a step guide how i can integrate it with my edX so i can login with my school credentials?

I will give a look at the DJANGO AUTH LDAP in the meanwhile

I don't think there is a detailed guide but there are a couple of messages in the list that you can find if you search by EdX and LDAP. I don't have a LDAP to test but looks like it should work after installing the django ldap package (in the EdX virtualenv) and changing the django settings to use that backend for authentication.

I have the same Issue. Is there any update for this Problem? 

Could you find a solution?
