edx ldap / active directory integration

Hey folks,

What's the current consensus on enabling LDAP / Active Directory integration within edX?

I tried setting up a CAS server but didn't have much luck and was wondering if that was overkill.

Someone mentioned using MamaCas and then there have been some topics suggesting that the ldap authentication module for Django just needs to be installed.

Does anyone have experience with this?

Can you point me to a list of steps to get this done?

We are using open edX with CAS and works fine. We have also used LDAP with edX but we are making a new front-end, you can see it here:

  Hi All,

   Where does this stand - is anyone authenticating with LDAP and Active Directory?  Is there any documentation - does anyone have notes that they can share - what worked, what didn't?
