Hi!

On behalf of EDIA, We're new to EDx and just figuring out how to configure everything to our likings and we had a couple of questions about this. Hopefully someone can help us out.

We've looked at some other businesses offering courses using EDx and we noticed that they showed an overview of all available courses on the homepage without having to log in. Is this something that can be set in the standard settings or do we have to use a template/wrapper to achieve this?

Another feature we found was a customized top menu with drop downs consisting of customized text. These menu options seem to link to a page created by the business but still uses the functionality of the EDx menu. Can anybody help us set this up?
The same question for the carrousel containing all logo's at the bottom: the EDx site has this feature, but can we set it up for ourselves?

We really like the following company site using EDx. They feature the options we would like to have as well:  https://www.indonesiax.co.id/

Thanks for you help in advance! Looking forward to join the community and talk to you about the possibilities!

Hi Roos,

1. overview of all courses available for review by not-logged-in user is a default behavior of Open edX.
2. customized menu with drop-downs - this is essentially a customized theme. You can do this yourself if you're familiar with HTML, CSS and maco-templates. The starting point should be here: https://github.com/edx/edx-platform/tree/master/themes
3. carousel - same thing. Open edX doesn't have it, so one need to customize the default template to have it on the site.

IndonesiaX did it exatly this way - they've customized the Open edX theme to add their custom features like drop-down menus.

P.S.: we can help setting similar features for you. Let me know if you're interested.

Regards,
