Did you manage to fix this issue ? I'm getting the same error message when i run paver devstack lms on a windows 8 system.

I ve run the commands to fix symlinks from cygwin but it's still getting stuck on this command.

Thanks,
Raphael

Raphael, do you mean that you are running paver directly on Windows?  Or that you are running virtualbox on Windows, with paver in the virtualbox?

Sorry i meant using virtualbox on Windows. I'm following the tutorial, i used the vagrants commands and i managed to logon as the edxapp user.
Error occurs during the next step of the tutorial when i enter paver devstack lms

Thanks

Did you try to run this?

paver install_prereqs
paver update_assets lms --settings=devstack
paver update_assets studio/cms --settings=devstack
