Greetings,

One cool option for edX would be the capacity to import / export questions or problems with external tools.
Support of the IMS QTI (Question and Test Interoperability) standard would be great.

Is there any planned development effort in that direction?

I don't think we have any official policies regarding the writing of tools to translate content from one learning system to another. edX Studio supports courseware export into a format that is documented at http://data.edx.org. Likewise, Studio supports importing this format as well.

So the plan of attack would be for interested parties to write a tool to read/write into these formats.

Also, we are planning a edX API which also might be able to be used for these means. There was just an announcement on the Open edX discussion boards regarding an API spec that has been opened up for public review.

Any progress on this front?
Some of my faculty is asking me for QTI support for quizzes.
Is there any infrastructure built or being built (beyond "raw" XBlocks) for this? Or even just at the level of policies?
Thanks
Paul
