Hi,

I'm currently using Ficus and I'm wondering how I can configure the LTI component to send the username and email to the external source. The only information that I've been able to find so far are the docs that say that in order to turn this on contact your edX partner manager, although, as your hosting our own instance there is no documentation that define the process for properly implementing this functionality.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Aaron,
Have you tried following this guide by MIT Teaching Systems Lab

Hope it helps a bit.
Best, L.

The MTI Lab README says:

For the LTI Consumer, make sure to set "Request users' username" and "Request user's email" to true. You may need to reach out to someone at EdX to enable this for your course.

How can I enable "Request user's email" in OpenEdx devstack?

It is pretty obscure unfortunately..  You can do it from the Studio Django Admin (not the LMS Django Admin):

Using a superuser account, login to your site's Django Administration area.  This can be reached by adding /admin to the end of your Studio URL.

Locate the Xblock_config section, and click Course edit lti fields enabled flags.

If the course you wish to enable these fields for is missing from the list, click the Add course edit lti fields enable flag button to add your course.

Enter the full course ID, and ensure that the Enabled checkbox is checked to enable the LTI fields for your course.

Cheers,
