link php application to edX modules

Hi, how can i link my php application with some edx modules. In fact i'm working in a php project and i would like to use some edX modules. How can i acceess to edX modules from my php project. thx

edX is written in Python — you can’t directly access Python code from PHP, or any other language. However, you can request the HTML from edX and interact with that. Can you provide some more context around what you’re trying to do?

Hi Alaa,

You meant you want to call some python modules of edX from your php application or just the data?

* In case of data, I suggest you try to call through API(s). I'm not sure if Open edX has api(s) or not. If not, try the django-rest-framework with edX to provide API(s).

* If you want to call python modules from your php code, I believe there are several ways to do that:

+ Using the exec function of PHP: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2726551/call-python-from-php-and-get-return-code

+ Python extension for PHP: http://www.csh.rit.edu/~jon/projects/pip/

I would suggest to take a look at LTI, I have integrated a small toy ruby sinatra application. though I had issues with grade passback.
