Please help us spread the word about Open edX!

We have created the “Powered by Open edX” logo for use by third parties that run separate instances of the Open edX platform.

We request – and highly encourage – you to:

• Prominently display the “Powered by Open edX” logo in the footer of your homepage and each subpage of your instance; and

• Link each use of the logo back to http://openedx.org.

The logo and usage guidelines are available at https://github.com/edx/edx-
platform/wiki/Powered-by-Open-edX-Logos.

We're excited that you’re part of the Open edX community. Your help evangelizing the initiative and protecting the Open edX brand is extremely valuable.

Many sites have some kind of Open edX acknowledgement, it will help us greatly if everyone could use the same logo in the same way in the footer of their site.

Let me know if I can help in any way.

Thanks,

--Ned.

I've just pushed to master a change that gives Open edX a new footer by default that includes the "Powered by Open edX logo" out-of-the-box as well as a placeholder for your own logo.

So you should no longer need to customize an edx.org-specific footer but rather just the generic Open edX footer provided as `footer.html`.

Let us know on this list if you have any questions about the new footer or new logo.

Our MOOCs website is not backed by an official organization yet and still in the beta testing phrase but proudly powered by Open edX:

It's really great to be part of the community!

Thanks for the entire community behind openedX. Cloud Genius http://online.cloudgeni.us will be powered by openedX :) Open Source. Game Over.

I understand CyberSource support was developed and incorporated by Stanford team. We need some help in enabling eCommerce which is a requirement before we go live. Appreciate if you can please connect me with someone who can help me enable eCommerce. Thank you.

http://code.edx.org/openedx_logo_guidelines.pdf is silent so I ask whether it is proper use to add color shade #00AFF0 to https://files.edx.org/openedx-logos/edx-openedx-logo-tag-dark.png to match our theming?

Hello Nilesh Londhe,

Congratulations on your success and enthusiasm for Open edX. edX has recently done a lot of additional work (Coupons, Redeem Codes, Invoicing, etc) on the eCommerce implementation that Stanford contributed to Open edX last year. There is some documentation to be found at: https://github.com/edx/edx-platform/wiki/Shopping-Cart.

Please review that documentation and let us know if you still have any questions or challenges.

Best wishes,

Chris Dodge

I don't think Aspen has many of the new eCommerce features (Coupons, Invoices, Redeem Codes, etc) but basic course purchases is definitely in Aspen and the configuration documentation on that link I forwarded should help to get you started.

All the new eCommerce work will certainly be in the next "official release" (Birch) of Open edX which will be announced on this mailing list when the exact dates are known.

Best wishes,

Nilesh,

Please create new threads for new discussion topics. For example, this may get more attention under a new email titled "Color Guideline Question for Open edX Logo". Your other question on this thread would be better off in its own email with a subject like, "Help with CyberSource integration". Keeping separate emails makes sure the mailing list is searchable, and will get you more attention from people with subject matter expertise.

Best,
Sarina
