I want to be able to provide a random set of problems in a unit from a problem bank. Is there any support to do this at present. I came across : http://edx-partner-course-staff.readthedocs.org/en/latest/creating_content/create_problem.html#problem-randomization.
I did not understand the procedure mentioned, and would appreciate some clarification.
Thanks!

Hi Shubham!

There's a different concept called Content Libraries, which might be better suited to your needs. In two words - you create a library of problems just like you would normally do with course unit. Than, in the course you want to use that library with you add a Randomized Content Blocks whenever you want problems drawn from the library.

Refer to the documentation links I provided for details on how to use them and don't hesitate asking questions.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
I had tried this, but i get the following error :
This course does not support content libraries. Contact your system administrator for more information.
What does this mean?

does the randomization happen even for a single student? Or are the problems shown to a particular students fixed?

Each student sees fixed collection of problems, but different students see different collections. To be precise, each student on first visit to Randomized Content Block got assigned some problems drawn from library at random. Subsequent visits to that same Random Content Block always display the same collection, unless Randomized Content Block was updated in Studio.

In two words: each student sees fixed collection of problems, but different students see different collections.
