Hello!

Can you please tell me if Ribopicker online is functioning? I uploaded a bunch of jobs to the website last week (8/13/2013) and they are still only at the queued stage. I have found most jobs to be processed quickly over the last 2 weeks but this batch of files are going nowhere.

Any updates welcome as I am waiting on the returned files to start a de novo assembly.

cheers

Hi Helen,

We have a higher number of samples being uploaded to the server since August 12th. Your jobs are still in the queue and it might take a few more days until they will start processing. We are in the process of updating the cluster capacity and the longer waiting times should be disappear in the near future.

Thank you for your patience,
Rob

Hi Rob,
I can see 5 of my jobs are running now with 99 or 100% for the running stage and Process results next to come.

However I have 8 jobs which for the Define and Download Results page show they have timed out at 1 week (168 h) since they were assigned a job number, with a "data not available anymore" message. I have another 12 files which are still to start running but I am guessing this will happen to them as well once they've run.

Given I can't access results through the site is there any other way I might be able to access the data? Alternatively, I will cut my losses on these jobs & rerun them when your cluster capacity issues settle down.

cheers
Helen

While the jobs where queued, the input files were deleted from the web server due to the time expiration. Once they were done processing, they were also deleted on the compute cluster. Unfortunately, I won't be able to retrieve the data.

I will request to clear the queue for all jobs that will be affected by this issue due to the large cluster load. I will also try to find someone to implement a better solution to ensure that the expiration time starts once a job is completed and not when it is submitted (which was easier to implement).

Please re-submit your data after this weekend.

Thanks Rob. Sorry to overuse your excellent bioinformatics tool and crash the cluster!
cheers
