"Trauma Eighth Edition" by Albert E. Moore is another in the series of "Detox Book for a Life of Science" by the author. In this text, the focus is on a variety of modalities of handling and treating various wounds. This text describes the use of tourniquets and various bandages, the effects of burns and the use of insect-repellent ointments. There are discussions on the use of electroencephalographs (EEG), electrocardiograms (ECG), and neurofeedback (NE Healing Model) in traumatized patients. Additional illustrations of the application of pressure, such as that illustrated in "Richter's Disease Scale", are found in this text along with explanations of the different types of pressure applications and their utility.

This book, just like all the others in the series, was a great help to me in getting back into shape after the trauma I had to face a few months ago. The text covered many areas I hadn't thought of, and many techniques I never would have thought of. Many of the illustrations, as well, are extremely vivid, and I enjoyed looking at them. Also, I think a lot of what the text teaches us about proper care of our own body parts is helpful in our day to day lives, since many of the procedures involved seem practical and easy to follow.

Despite some negative reviews I've seen in online forums, I believe this text will be an excellent reference for many people, especially those who already have knowledge on the topic. The book is full of useful information, and the format allows for it to be easily read on a computer or a Kindle. If you're thinking about a medical textbook, this is definitely not it, but for the kind of information this book has to offer, it is a great choice. For people just starting out in the field of trauma care, it is definitely recommended.
