I'd like to introduce myself. I'm a 33yo guy from Paderborn, Germany.
I have a degree/diploma in Computer Science and I am working as a
freelancing software developer for mobile applications and web
applications.
I'm also a teacher at two vocational schools, where I teach
programming and databases to young trainees.
I wrote my thesis about Ruby (and Rails) and my daily development work
is also mainly Ruby-based stuff. So it was obvious, that Ruby was my
programming language of choice for teaching software development. But
I'm the only one at both schools, who teaches it. My colleagues prefer
C/C++ or Java and so I often have to defend my choice. But I think,
Ruby is perfect for learning the concepts of programming, because of
it's clear syntax and it's straightforwardness.
I hope I will find many inspirations here for my teachings and can
also give some tips.
