For those of us with wee bairns, or those of us working in early childhood education, Lifelong Kindergarten at MIT are releasing a version of Scratch for pre-schoolers.
I've seen some really interesting engagements with Scratch at a couple of recent Mozilla-sponsored kids hackjams here in Toronto by a guy, Matt Price, who is kind of an ex-academic who occasionally lectures in the History department here, but also teaches Scratch at some local schools.
