• Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation Announces Partnership with the Gilman Program • ACT Plus Writing Adds September Testing Date • Community Colleges of Spokane Announce New 2-Year Honors Program THE UNIVERSITY OF IOWA SUMMER HAWK TUITION GRANTS The University of Iowa is a major national research university located on a 1,900-acre campus in Iowa City in southeast Iowa. Iowa is composed of 11 colleges, the largest of which is the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, enrolling most of Iowa's undergraduates. The Henry B. Tippie College of Business, the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, and the Colleges of Education, Engineering, Law, Nursing, Pharmacy, enroll undergraduates, and with the Colleges of Dentistry and Public Health provide graduate education in conjunction with the Graduate College. A strong liberal arts core forms the foundation for a wealth of degree programs offered through TCNJ’s seven schools—Arts & Communication; Business; Humanities & Social Sciences; Education; Science; Nursing, Health, & Exercise Science; and Engineering. SHAWN CARTER SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH THE GILMAN PROGRAM On Monday, March 18, the Gilman Program and the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation issued a press release announcing the inaugural scholarship recipients of its partnership. Additionally, the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation announced its support for the Gilman Program on its Facebook page. ACT PLUS WRITING ADDS SEPTEMBER TESTING DATE We are pleased to announce that beginning with the upcoming 2013-2014 academic year, ACT is adding a September “ACT Plus Writing” date for students testing outside of the US and Canada. This new September offering replaces the February “ACT No Writing” date, meaning that all international ACT dates now offer the Writing option. COMMUNITY COLLEGES OF SPOKANE ANNOUNCE NEW 2-YEAR HONORS PROGRAM American Honors is a new 2-year honors program offered at CCS– it’s designed for bright students who want to graduate from a top 200 US 4-year university and at the same time save money and have a more personalized experience. At the conclusion of the 2-year program, students will earn an Associate’s degree with honors and will have the opportunity to apply to transfer to a top-tier university to complete their Bachelor’s degree. This year, our CCS honors students have been accepted for transfer to Stanford, the University of Washington, University of Michigan, Rutgers, Ohio State, Gonzaga and many others. Many of our students have also received substantial merit-based scholarships to transfer institutions. |
