Insist to talk to the Chancellor! Tell the Chancellor that academic punishment is an outrage! The Milwaukee 16 have already been charged by city police! Say NO to double jeopardy! Tell him education should be a right!
Today, the Milwaukee 16 had their first court date, where they plead NOT GUILTY. These individuals were arrested for participating in a protest for education rights for the March 4 National Day of Action to Defend Education (http://defendeducation.org)
The education rights movement at UW-Milwaukee is stronger and larger than ever. Hundreds of faculty and staff have joined the struggle as well as the new progressive leadership of AFSCME local 82. The College of Letters and Sciences, the College of Education, and the College of Urban Planning have all passed resolutions urging the Chancellor to drop all charges against the Milwaukee 16.
Please call the Chancellor’s office in support of the UWM Education Rights Campaign and demand that all charges be dropped for the Milwaukee 16!
