Hello, so this group was founded by those of us who wanted to fight back for education rights in the face of economic recession.

Another fight back that is happening around the country involves housing. Tonight, SDS will be hosting Rosemary Williams, an amazing, middle aged African American woman from Minneapolis who fought tooth and nail to keep her home, to the point of occupying it for weeks before police raided it and forcibly removed her and her supporters. She's inspired many more to fight back for their homes in the face of foreclosure. Along with her speech, the Minnesota Welfare Rights Committee has put together a slide show of her long struggle.

Please consider joining us and telling your co-workers and friends. The event happens tonight at 6:00pm in Bolton Hall room 150.

In the struggle,
Daniel
