Hi Friend,
As part of our 25th anniversary celebrations, join us for a virtual panel on The Legacy & History of Open Education.
During this event, we'll trace how a set of principled ideas about access, sharing, and collaboration grew into a global movement. This panel brings together leaders who have helped shape and steward this work over time to reflect on the origins of the open education movement, the milestones that defined its evolution, and the communities that carried it forward across regions and generations.
The panel features Open Education experts from across the movement:
- Kathryn Kure, CC South Africa Chapter Lead and Founder of Data Myna
- Cable Green, former Director of Open Knowledge at Creative Commons, Interim CEO, and member of the CC Advisory Council
- Angela DeBarger, Program Co-Lead for the Catalyst Fund at Renaissance Philanthropy and former Hewlett Foundation Program Officer
- Jennryn Wetzler, moderator, Director of Learning and Training at Creative Commons

Audience members will be invited to reflect on their own educational communities, connect past to present, and surface insights that can help shape the next chapter of open education. We hope to see you there!
CC Team
P.S. This is a pay-what-you-can event. All contributions support our $5 million fundraising goal, helping to build the foundation of CC's next 25 years. If you can, please consider supporting with a gift in honor of our 25th anniversary!
