The Cultural Landscape by Rubenstein offers many lessons in a very simple and easy to read format. The first chapter starts off with a brief history of the book and the author's personal experiences as he delves into the topic. The next two chapters cover a variety of topics such as space and time, family, art, photography, and the impact of the written word. The third chapter explores the impact of architecture. After an entertaining history of the subject, the book finally concludes with a look at the current state of the American landscape and how the current media climate has affected our culture. The final chapter offers some suggestions for coping with change.
