Mobile Crisis Teams can provide mental health engagement, intervention and follow-up support to help people remain connected with treatment providers. The teams may offer a range of services, including:
You can request help from a Mobile Crisis Team if you are concerned about a family member, friend or acquaintance who is experiencing, or at risk of, a psychological crisis. You can also request a team for yourself. To request a team, call 988.
If a Mobile Crisis Team determines that a person in crisis needs further psychiatric or medical assessment, they can arrange for that person to be transported to a hospital psychiatric emergency room.
Mobile Crisis Teams may direct EMS or police to take a person to an emergency room against their will only if they have a mental illness (or the appearance of mental illness) and are a danger to themselves or others. This is in accordance with NYS Mental Hygiene Law.

It all began with Doctor Manhattan deciding to actually become God. But to do so, he had to replace the current God. To do so, Manhattan had to travel to Earth 1 where he would summon the Presence. Doctor Manhattan didn't have any normal way to go to another Earth in the Multiverse. To travel to Earth 1, he had to break through Earth 86, where he came from. This caused a multitude of problems in the Multiverse. Even causing a button to appear in the Batcave on Earth 1.
Batman and the returned Flash found this button and started an investigation to find out where it came from. The two soon realized it must be from another world as it vibrated in a whole other way than any other item on Earth. Reverse Flash later appeared and stole the button. He used it as a beacon to find the source. Eobard soon found himself on Mars in front of Doctor Manhattan. As he returned to the Batcave, Thawne yelled out "god" before disintegrating.
Others in the Multiverse also noticed the change. Two of these people were John Constantine and Lucifer Morningstar. John met with his old lover, Zatanna while Lucifer tried to get in contact with God. When God did not give him any help, Lucifer went to Hell and met with its ruler, Mazikeen. Mazikeen did not want to help Lucifer and only told him to leave her realm. Not sure what to do, Lucifer reached out to a man he had met, one man who was nearly as powerful as him, Spectre. Zatanna and Constantine did also reach out to Spectre which led to the four uniting.
Wally West was soon met by the Speed Force itself. It told him about the Multiverse change. This caused him to start investigating the new crisis on his own hand. While doing so, Wally met with Booster Gold and the original Blue Beetle who Booster had saved from dying. The three studied the changes to the Multiverse and got in contact with the Legends of Tomorrow. Doing so, they learned things had changed across the whole timeline. Learning this, they got in contact with the Justice League.
Doctor Manhattan soon realized he could not see the whole future as he had done before. The last thing he now could see was his battle against Superman. Believing Superman would either kill him or destroy the Multiverse, Doctor Manhattan searched for allies who could kill Superman. One of these allies was Trigon who was stuck in a crystal carried by Raven. Going to steal the crystal, Doctor Manhattan killed her boyfriend, Beast Boy. After this, he ripped out the crystal from Raven's head which nearly killed her. She was saved though by John Constantine.
After leaving Raven at the House of Mystery, John and Lucifer went to the Watchmen Universe to find out where everything is coming from. The two talked and Constantine argued they needed the demon army. Lucifer didn't think it was needed at all. But after seeing how Earth 86 looked, the two decided to get as many people with them as they could.
Trigon was let go in Metropolis to kill Superman. Superman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman teamed up in fighting Trigon. But in the battle, Jimmy Olsen was killed. But with the help of Zatanna, Batman, and The Flash, they were able to beat Trigon. Even though he was able to break Zatanna's back. Manhattan later appeared and was able to break Aquaman's trident even though it is said to be unbreakable. Before leaving, Doctor Manhattan teleported Superman to Mars.
On Mars, Doctor Manhattan and Superman talked. Manhattan explained that if they were to battle, it is fully possible, Superman would destroy the whole universe. Not wanting to take the chance, Clark did not attack Doctor Manhattan.
When John Constantine heard of Zatanna's injury, he forced Lucifer to gather allies. They met with Amenadiel. They also went to Hell. Lucifer took command of the demon army and took them all to Earth. Together, they and Spectre attacked Doctor Manhattan. The Justice League and Wally West also joined the battle. Wally ran so fast he became pure energy and stuck at Doctor Manhattan, injuring the godlike figure. Lucifer, Spectre, and Superman also battled Doctor Manhattan. But they failed.
In the end, the Presence arrived. Everyone got to see God. God used his powers and sent Doctor Manhattan to the end of time. A point where nothing existed. Not even time. After this, he left and let everyone fix the things he had changed.
**At times inpatient hospitalization may be the result of the triage or assessment. This may also require medical clearance from the local ER to access inpatient care per the requirements of the inpatient psychiatric facility.
Anyone experiencing a mental health crisis can come directly to the Crisis Stabilization Unit. We are located at 1558 Hayes Drive Suite A, Manhattan, KS 66502. Come to the front door, press a buzzer, and a crisis staff member will meet with you to determine what services would best fit your needs. Those 18 years of age and older may be considered for care in our Crisis Stabilization Unit for ongoing assistance.
No, however, the CSU has a psychiatric APRN who is available twice a week for medication-related appointments for those admitted to the CSU. Services provided include initial medication evaluations and follow-up medication checks only while admitted to the CSU. Once discharged an individual may continue to receive services through PMHS on an outpatient basis or another provider.
The doors are unlocked from the inside. Everyone here is voluntary and here for their own recovery and stabilization. We will encourage you to do what is in the best interest of your health and safety. Of course, if you are imminently dangerous to yourself or others, we will have to let the authorities know, just like your outpatient provider would.
Clients with Medicaid will be fully covered. Clients with commercial insurance may have a copay/deductible for the therapy visits while here. Uninsured clients will likely qualify for a free or reduced rate.
There may be times when you experience a mental health crisis, but do not necessarily need an inpatient hospitalization. In such cases, we will have an alternative option called the Intensive Crisis Residence. One of the first to be offered in New York State, our Intensive Crisis Residence is a short-term (generally one to two weeks) alternative to psychiatric hospitalization. You will be taken care of by peer counselors, social workers, nurses, and doctors, but in a home-like environment. While there, you can also receive services from our Partial Hospitalization Program or Intensive Outpatient Program, offered in the same building. This program can also be a safe alternative to going directly home after an inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, so that you can have more time to safely adjust to being in the community.
If you are in need of emergency mental health and/or substance abuse evaluation and treatment, the Mount Sinai Beth Israel Comprehensive Emergency Psychiatry Program (CPEP) will continue to have its Psychiatric Emergency Room services at the Mount Sinai Beth Israel campus, located on First Avenue at East 16th Street.
Establishes Requirement That All State Entities Review State-Owned Sites for Potential Housing; Announces Open Requests for Proposals at Two State-Owned Sites That Could Potentially Yield Hundreds of Housing Units
The Governor remains committed to developing creative solutions in partnership with the Legislature to help New Yorkers find and keep a decent home that they can afford. These actions build on investments secured by Governor Hochul in the FY 2024 Budget to make the state more livable and affordable for all New Yorkers.
The Governor announced a program aimed at targeting specific benefits and housing obligations in line with the former 421-a(16) program for development proposals currently vested in the expired program in the Gowanus neighborhood in Brooklyn. Proposals would respond to a request for applications administered by Empire State Development. For eligible proposals, Empire State Development would purchase the privately owned properties for a nominal fee, lease the property back to the original owners for a long-term lease term that would parallel the 421-a(16) benefit period, and deed the property back to the original owner at the conclusion of the benefit period. In exchange, the property owner would make payments equivalent to the reduced taxes the property would have paid if it were to complete construction prior to the expired 421-a(16) program completion deadline of June 15, 2026.
This program will be presented for approval to the Empire State Development Directors later this week. Each proposal would be subject to a public review process that would include Empire State Development board and Public Authorities Control Board approvals.
In addition, the executive order directs New York State agencies, public authorities, public benefit corporations, and related State entities to take into account the goal of creating additional housing in all policy and programmatic decisions.
