Hey Gaby, Karen, Vivian and Jonell.

Just a thought...

Remember that this is a social studies group and we are suppose to be teaching History (world history, 9TH Grade).

Literature and history go hand in hand, and most teachers and professors use historical literature to teach History courses to provide students with an understanding of people's beliefs, ideas, culture, etc. Personally, I think it's the best way to teach history, but that's another story! =)

I think this is what we are doing here with this project. We are using the myth to teach a history class about Ancient Greece.

Using the myth to show how it reflects the Ancient Greek's religion, world views or views of their natural world.

Maybe, we should focus on what the myth tells us about the Ancient Greek civilization, and not so much on things like the literary genre (myth), form or the characteristics of Greek myths. After all we are not teaching 12th grade Literature.

This is just a thought... please let me know what you think.

Yea that makes sense. The myth I found explains how the seasons came about. Still looking for more..

Can you post this as a "NEW POST" not a "Reply" so everyone can see it!

Thanks
