When you scan using a job registered with CaptureOnTouch, the registered job settings have priority over the scanner driver settings. Edit existing job settings, or create a new job using the desired scanning conditions.
Clean sides of the scanner glass, and the rollers. If a sticky substance such as glue or correction fluid is found, carefully wipe with just enough pressure to clean the area where the lines appear. If the problem cannot be solved by cleaning, the glass may be scratched. Contact your local authorized Canon dealer.
Then the scanner driver's [Scanning Side] setting is [Skip blank page], documents with very little black may be unintentionally skipped. Decrease the [Set the likelihood of skipping blank page] value or select another scan mode setting such as [Simplex] or [Duplex].
When [Panel-Feeding] or [Automatic Feeding] is selected as the feeding method on the scanner driver's setting screen, a scanning operation will not continue after all of the documents are fed, as the scanner awaits additional documents to be fed. You can finish the operation and send the scanned images to the application by pressing the stop button on the scanner.
If you configure scanning conditions that use a large amount of the computer's memory, scanning may stop because of insufficient memory. Although this depends on the computer's memory size, the possibility of insufficient memory increases if any of the following scanning conditions overlap.
- A high resolution (600dpi etc.) is specified for [Dots per inch].
If an error message appears due to insufficient memory while scanning is in progress, exit the application, change the scanning conditions (e.g. reduce the resolution or page size) and then try scanning again. In addition, the amount of memory used can be contained by turning off [Moire Reduction] and [Please change prevent bleed through and remove] if they are set to on.
2 Some applications cannot open compressed TIFF files, even if it does not contain multiple pages. This issue can occur with programs that are not compatible with CaptureOnTouch and TIFF files of CapturePerfect. In this case, select "None" as the image file compression format before scanning.
If you're using Windows and you've installed a Canon driver, VueScan's built-in drivers won't conflict with this. If you haven't installed a Windows driver for this scanner, VueScan will automatically install a driver.

After you get your new driver, you need to put it on your computer. On Windows, there's a tool called Device Manager that helps with this. The scanner is equipped with the Advanced Text Enhancement Mode, for enhancing the text of documents with dark or uneven backgrounds, and the Advanced Text Enhancement II mode, for enhancing the text when the text and background are light.
The scanner is equipped with a Skip Blank Page function that enables you to scan a document without storing images of blank pages, regardless of whether each page of the document is two-sided or one-sided. sides are scanned, but saving the image is skipped for scan images judged to be from a blank page.
The scanner is equipped with a Prescan function that allows you to adjust the contrast and brightness of a prescanned image and then send the adjusted image to the application software, without needing to scan the document again.
After all scan documents are fed, you can still perform scanning operation by loading a new scan document on the scanner and pressing the Start button. The documents are saved as one scan, even if there are more pages than the allowed maximum for the scanner's feed tray.
You can register scanning conditions and methods for processing scanned images as jobs, and register up to 10 jobs in CaptureOnTouch. By simply selecting a registered job, you can perform scanning operations in a determined order.
Once you download your new driver, then you need to install it. To install a driver in Windows, you will need to use a built-in utility called Device Manager. It allows you to see all of the devices recognized by your system, and the drivers associated with them.
In the Device Manager window, locate the device for which you want to install or update the driver. You can find devices under their respective categories, such as Display adapters, Sound, Video and Game Controllers, or Network adapters.
Click on the Browse button and navigate to the location where you saved the downloaded driver files. Select the appropriate driver file and click OK. Then, click Next to begin the installation process.

I have a ImageFORMULA P-215 Scan-tini scanner which worked without any problems with my Lenovo X230 laptop running Windows 7 64-bit. However, I have been unable to get the CaptureOn Touch software to work on my Asus Transformer TA100T notebook running Windows 8.1 32-bit. The software and driver installation completed without any errors (without the scanner connected). But when I connect the scanner into the USB port and run the Capture On Touch software, it always comes up with a Microsoft Visual C++ runtime library error - Program C:\Program Files\Canon Electronics\P215\TouchDR.exe abnormal program termination.

Yes, same problem, on my old Sony Vaio S13 which I bought back in 2013, it worked. On this new Dell Precision 7530, it doesn't. It is really annoying. Everything else works, except this software for the scanner.
Same error here with Windows10 x64 and the DR.C225W. It's almost catastrophic to pay almost 400 bugs for a scanner and then it becomes completely useless due to a software update. I'm not even able to download old versions of the capture one touch software, which may still works.
This has been an ongoing issue with a customer that we recently took over. it seems as though no one has previously been able to get down to the fix. this issue is stemming from a Cannon DR7550C with ISIS/TWAIN drivers v1.9 (which I was told were the newest) and 9.2.1 client. to break this down with the information I have so far:
-this has been tried and test many times and there is still no luck. things have been uninstalled, reinstalled, the computers have been completely re-imaged even and there is still no luck getting it to work.
-they do run into an odd issue with their Symantec software when trying to put scanconnect on.....they have come to find out that they need to completely uninstall the software for scanconnect to even install, simply disabling it is not enough. once scanconnect is on they do re-install the Symantec software.
after playing around with this for a long time and uninstalling/re-installing, reconfiguring again and again, I was able to get this to work. sometimes it seems like scanconnect has a mind of its own.....
