Thisquestion often comes up, and I think we all know the answer is yes. A good example is the incredibly convenient feature in iPhones of fixing something wrong you heard in your invite or join. It could be a single false note you sang, or maybe your dog can be heard barking in a part of the song.. all you have to do is go back to the recording screen, scroll to the exact time where the error happened, and re-record just that one bit. This has been working perfectly well on iPhones for more than two years, but has just been introduced on the Android version of the app - and yet it doesn't work on all Android phones, and works badly on many of them. You may hear a lag in the final recording that wasn't there before, etc.
Smule isn't the only app to work better on iOS than on Android - most of the popular apps look and work better, smoother, faster on iPhones. The reason is Apple's closed ecosystem - they make both the hardware and software, so they have far more control, tighter integration, and uniformity in the iOS environment. They also provide great developer tools, software libraries, APIs, and documentation. All this makes it easier for app developers to code for iOS, and the result is more predictability and higher quality. They can and often do put more features in the iPhone version than in the Android version, and coding for iPhones can be done much quicker.
By comparison, with Android, the operating system is made by Google and the hardware is from numerous different manufacturers, who will often have their own skin like OneUI, OxygenOS, etc.. Google has no control over them. There are cheap and expensive phones, with all kinds of different capabilities. With that huge diversity it's impossible to test for all combinations, and to predict how well a given feature will work on a particular phone. End result is that on Android, app performance can be unpredictable, while on iPhones it is predictable and can be optimized.
The downside of course is that iPhones can be overpriced and Android phones need not be. It's no coincidence that Apple is one of the most profitable companies in the world. Although I'm an iPhone user, I'm glad Android puts pressure on Apple iPhone pricing!
Smule has always focused more on iOS than android phone, Moreso due to the there being less device models to make compatible with the app I suppose. For example, the voice feedback function on android has been something that has been included and works far better on iOS. I also find that the app varies from device to device on android.
Though I got my doubt cleared but On trying a gift card through amazon for iphone, I was not able to use it as it returns the message that the subscription already exists. I have android VIP subscription but bought the gift card to use it on my iphone. What to do now..?
I was on Android and I bought a new iPhone and I wanted to connect my old V.I.P smule account on my iphone. But when I want to restore the subscription, I'm told "Have your unlimited subscription is over", how can I get my V.I.P back?
Deletion will happen after 30 days of your submission. If you would like to have your account reactivated after requesting deletion from within the app, contact us at
sup...@smule.com as soon as possible. Reactivation can be requested only if your account is currently in the process of deletion. Once deleted, a Smule account cannot be restored.
Deleting your account is irreversible, and all content will be removed in the process, and cannot be restored. Content includes recordings created by others utilizing arrangements you uploaded to our systems.
In case you've started your deletion process before canceling your website subscription, please contact us via
sup...@smule.com with the Transaction ID that you should have received via email so we can cancel it for you - the ID would be easily recognizable as it always starts with "112" for website purchases.

I discovered Smule in 2016, but it was just a passing interest. I had never really sang much other than in the car, in the shower, and maybe if we were at a bar that had a karaoke machine. But I loved to sing.
Recently, I decided that I would really like to have a similar level of quality for monitoring while singing, but I would like to be able to take it with me to perform recordings in different locations.
None of this is necessary just for good Smule recordings. I know folks that seem to get better recordings out of their iPhone and iPhone headphones. But I use this studio for other voiceover, recording, and broadcasting needs, so the key to me is making it easy to sit down and get right to recording, reviewing, and broadcasting quickly and easily, with expected, reproducible results.
Hello, my name is Ryan. I am a smuler too. In your set up of 2018 Summer V1, did you experience any delay doing smule? I want to set up the same exact thing, but also plug in a instrument into mixer to record in Smule.
Today I want to talk about a few things. Common Sing issues we are experiencing and features we are all waiting for.
There were many questions about the Android experience towards iOS and yes, iOS wins.
Some users wanted to know how they can enable IEM, how to hide layers in a group song, how to use flags, etc. Yup, android does not have that. YET. So, for anyone that switched from iOS to Android will get an unpleasant surprise. Why is that?
Because the app was built for iOS devices, of course, they have all of the features 1st and android users get them months or even years later.
I remember reading an article at smule blog 2015 when they announced IEM coming soon for Android devices. Yay!
Now, recently Smule provided new cool filters for iOS users. I have these filters on a testing version and they are the same as iOS, but for the regular Android version of Smule, we are still waiting. Not even all iPhone users have them so maybe we will have to wait a little longer.
But I really like this new look iPhone users have had for months now. We can now finally customize our profiles as well! If you have not, hurry and update your sing app. You will be pleasantly surprised. The new version is 5.0.9.
I was researching and even I had the same problem at the beginning so I found a cure for this problem.Instead of chosing a picture from your gallery or any other document, pick your picture from recent folder. Not sure why but for some reason when I want to upload a picture from the tab galery, smule just closes editing. So recent photos work for me and some other users.
Also there is a melody guide on iOS Sing! which is pretty helpful for learning a new song in a short time. But definitely not recommended while opening OC and such because that guide melody will sometimes stay on the track.
There is an option on iOS where you can hide your layer in a group song you joined but only if it is not opened by you. Just go to settings of the song, choose edit-hide then join again but without singing and all your layers are gone.
Overall, iOS have more options than Android. If you really want to take time and commit to this app then iOS may be the right choice for you after all. But, not in my case. I am on Android and using Smule for 3 years and I am not sure if I will get used to an iPhone Sing!
