HelloI would like to use my HP DeskJet 1000 with my MacBook Pro running OS version 10.13.1. But the drivers page does not indicate a driver compatible with this version--only MacOS v10.12. Will I be able to install the printer on my computer using the driver for v10.12?
Here is an update. I connected the printer to the computer and followed the on-screen instructions to install the printer. It did so without issue. When I printed a test page, all colors (magenta, yellow, black) printed without issue, but the cyan ink did not print at all. I tried to run a printhead clean, and it did not complete--it hung indefinitely. I did tried this twice, both with the same results.
Install the best available HP print driver and software on your Mac using Apple Software Update. Before installing the software, turn on the printer and make sure it is connected to the computer you want to print or scan from, either with a USB cable or through your local Wi-Fi or wired network.
Since October 2016, HP printer software packages are no longer delivered through Apple Software Update. Visit
123.hp.com to download the latest HP software for your printer. Alternatively, if your printer supports Apple AirPrint, you do not need a driver to print from your Mac or iOS device. For more information, go to About AirPrint (in English).
I reviewed your post and would like to inform you that the full featured drivers are not available for Mac OS 10.13.1. Therefore @Riddle_Decipher has suggested that you could attempt to install the printer drivers through the Mac OS update. The Mac OS contains a lot of drivers for HP printers.
Please remove your printer alone by clicking on the ( - Minus) sign next to the name of your printer and then follow the instructions to install the new drivers and fix the issue, if you do not wish to remove all the printers from your device.
I have a Deskjet 1000 j110 series printer. I've tried download the HP Easy Smart App which recognizes that is the printer i want to install but when it starts downloading the drivers for it, the process stops saying that ; gathering device info, preping setup, search software, preping for install and finally ends with: We were unable to automatically locate any software options for this product. It sends me to HP support where i can search for my printer which is found but it takes me to a download page:
The file name has the words Mountain Lion in it, which is NOT my OS, and so of course can I download this file and try to run it on my Mac I get a error windows saying that this file needs to be updated by the manufacture. That is the end of this process.
As soon as you open HP Easy Start, click the top HP Easy Start menu and select Uninstall HP Software...
Read any warnings that display, and then click Continue. When prompted, type your administrator user name and password and follow the steps on screen.
Click Set Up New Device, and then follow the instructions to reinstall your printer with HP Easy Start and let me know if that may resolve the problem.
Well for some reason it's opening up as a different menu. This is the 3rd time ive downloaded that file linked above. I run it and the first screen is about checking a box agreeing to some terms and clicking a Continue button on the bottom right.
After that I get a screen preparing the printer for setup where i must check the printer is plugged in, powered on and something about wireless printers which is not my case and finally another Continue button on the bottom right. Then it tries to connect to the printer. But there is no UNINSTALL button or option.
The Uninstall option is immediately when you run HP Easy Start, you should click the top HP Easy start menu immediately when you launch it (even before accepting the EULA) to remove it, then you should press on Set up a new device
I bought an HP Deskjet 1000 Printer J110 Series. Unfortunately, the installation CD that came with the Printer is for Mac OS X Versions 10.5 and 10.6 and i can't install it onto my MacBook Pro using the Mac OS X 10.8.4 Version. I have also tried to search on the website any possible solutions and have come along none.
When I connect the printer to the laptop, with Internet connected, the computer tries to automatically search for availability of printer drivers. However, at the end of the search a message is retuned that there are no available drivers for installation of the said printer and that I should check software update later.
After unpacking the bulky DeskJet 1000C from its large box I quickly plugged it into my computer's parallel port and using the thin power cable (no huge and annoying AC adapter to mess with like previous HP DeskJet printers) I plugged it into a socket. Upon firing up the 1000C I quickly realized that the cartridges it required (1 B/W + 1 Color) were identical to those required by the HP 850C, that seemed to me like a huge let down, a printer that costs about $100 more than a 850C but uses the exact same cartridges...well, it turned out that it wasn't a big let down. Windows 95 immediately detected my new printer as a HP DeskJet 1000C and prompted me for the installation CD upon startup, for those of you that are running without CDROM drives Hewlett Packard has been kind enough to include a floppy version of the drivers. If, for some reason, you don't have access to the drivers, the HP 850C drivers work flawlessly with the 1000C.
Included with the DeskJet 1000C is a nice software/productivity bundle, including an interactive Starter CD, a User's Guide, Idea Booklet, Print Samples, and some 11" x 17" paper to play around with since the 1000C can accept quite a large selection of paper sizes courtesy of the two conveniently selectable paper trays. Like its home office predecessors (i.e. 600 series), the Professional 1000 Series of HP printers allows the user the option of printing banners, without any third party software add-ons. A nice sheet of 13" x 19" paper comes pretty darn close to a banner just incase you don't feel like grabbing some full length sheets. Loading the 1000C with paper wasn't all that hard of a task, just slide out the tray, arm it with a stack of paper, and push the tray back in for a snug fit.
The Starter CD packaged with the 1000C is truly excellent resource, it walks you through just about every aspect of using your new printer and also allows you to print some sample files, to show off your new investment.
Updating your HP Deskjet 1000 Drivers regularly is an important aspect of keeping your devices working well and avoiding PC and Printer issues. If you are unsure about whether or not your Drivers are up-to-date, you should download a Driver Update Tool and run a free Drivers scan of your PC. The software will check if your HP Deskjet Drivers are up-to-date. If your Drivers need to be updated you can then register the software to receive automated Driver updates for all your devices.
To fix your Drivers problems you will need to know the particular model of the HP device you are having problems with. Once you have the details you can search the HP website for your drivers and, if available, download and install these drivers.
If you are unsure of whether or not you need to update your Drivers, or indeed which Drivers may need to be updated, you can run a Drivers scan using a driver update tool (you will need to pay to register this tool but usually the Drivers scan is free). This will allow you to assess your Driver needs without any commitment. Alternatively, you can use the device manager to check if there are problems with any of your hardware devices.
In many cases the answer to this is yes, however in some cases the manufacturers no longer make the Drivers available so you need to use a Driver Update Tool to install the missing Drivers. The purpose of such as tool is to save you time and effort by automatically downloading and updating the Drivers for you.
A Driver Update Program will instantly resolve your drivers problems by scanning your PC for outdated, missing or corrupt drivers, which it then automatically updates to the most compatible version.
The Deskjet 1000 is a simple printer to set up. The process involves unpacking the printer, installing the ink cartridges, installing the software and connecting the printer when prompted. We found that the whole process took about 20 minutes from start to finish. The process is described in a setup poster that is included with the printer, with more in-depth detail from the on-screen manual that is installed with the drivers and software. We found both to be adequate: they cover the detail of installing and using the printer with a good level of detail. A PDF version of the user and reference guide are available function ga4_link103() window.dataLayer.push(JSON.parse('"event":"default_event"')) here.
TA limited selection of software is supplied on the install CD for this printer. As part of the install process, you are also able to download an additional software package, available for both Mac and Windows users: HP Photo Creations.
The Deskjet 1000 is not a fast printer: printing in the Best mode onto photo paper, we found that it took 58.4 seconds to produce a 4 by 6 print, and 3 minutes, 21 seconds to produce a 10 by 8. The printer does not support borderless printing, so there is always a white border around images, with the maximum print size for 4 by 6 paper being 3.74 by 5.33 inches and 8.55 by 9.3 inches for a 10 by 8. This means that there is always a white border around your prints, and this border is bigger at the bottom of the print. On a 10 by 8 print, this bottom border measures a significant .4 inches, turning your 10 by 8 print into a 9.4 by 7.6 inch one.
