ACTION ALERT: Put a stop to the Canada-China FIPA!
Tell your MP to vote YES in Parliament

SEND YOUR LETTER NOW: http://canadians.org/action/2013/Canada-China-FIPA-MP.html

The FIPA, one of Harper's worst corporate rights pacts, will give China-based corporations 31 years of "protection" against environmental policies and other government decisions that put people before profits.  The FIPA has galvanized people against these excessive investment treaties and thrown the future of the China pact into doubt.

Tuesday (April 23), the NDP will ask Parliament to stop the Canada-China Foreign Investment Protection and Promotion Agreement (FIPA) from becoming law. The motion will be voted on next week, likely on Tuesday.

Use the form here (http://canadians.org/action/2013/Canada-China-FIPA-MP.html) to send a letter to MPs demanding they support the motion when it comes for a vote in the House of Commons.

Canada is already the 6th most sued country under similar corporate "rights" in NAFTA. The FIPA with China will lead to more corporate lawsuits like the ones against Quebec's moratorium on fracking, where a US energy firm wants $250 million in "compensation" for the community's right to say no to dangerous natural gas drilling.

Send a letter to all MPs now demanding they support the NDP motion, which reads:

“That, in the opinion of this House, the government should inform the Government of the People's Republic of China,

that it will not ratify the Canada-China Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement.”

Kind Regards,
