Hi everyone,

Here are our plans for the YEG Ultimate Cohort. This assumes that Step 2 of Alberta's Open for Summer plan goes into effect on June 10, as is currently projected:
  • We will be running a session 1 night a week on Wednesday evenings from 7-9pm at Mt. Pleasant (10541 60a Ave NW), starting on June 16 through to August 26th (11 weeks)
  • Leadership group is Danielle Dugan, Andy Dirgo, and Patrick MacQuarrie
  • Open to all genders
  • The target audience is competitive-level players looking for a bigger challenge than EUPA league, but without the same commitment or intensity of club practices
  • We will be asking that all registrants have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine
  • Registration will be through the EUPA website and will align with EUPA one-night summer league costs ($72+GST)
  • We will be running a similar format to last year's YEG Ultimate Cohort, with the exception that we will be aiming to spend more time scrimmaging (~75% scrimmage compared to 50% last year, with the remainder of the time being warm-up and basic drills)
  • We will NOT be treating this like a cohort (ie. participants are welcome to participate in other sport offerings)
  • We will continue to take steps to reduce the risk of COVID transmission by:
    • providing sanitizer
    • sanitizing discs regularly during scrimmages
    • asking that participants distance when possible
    • non-contact celebrations only (ie. no high-fives)
  • For those of you who are hesitant or on the fence, the registration link will stay live so you can join later if your comfort level increases. Unfortunately, you will still have to pay full price.

In case you have missed it, here are other options for ultimate this summer in Edmonton:
  • EUPA is running Tuesday (5on5) and Thursday (7on7) Mixed leagues, as well as a Monday night Hat League
  • AFC is running Men's and Women's programming on Monday nights as well as Mixed programming on Wednesday nights
EUPA details can be found on their website. If you are interested in participating in AFC sessions, make sure you are on their mailing list by filling out their interest form.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Andy, Dani & Patrick
