I hope that your summer has been going well.
I just went to the grocery store to pick up some hot dogs because the kids wanted some for supper.  I've been buyingTop Dog hot dogs - with less salt.  They were labeled with corn starch and I phoned the company and they confirmed that they were gluten free quite a while back.

I always check the label because they changed their regular top dogs a couple of summers ago and I  looked at the label and it now has wheat in them.
The store had top dog- angus beef hotdogs that have a black wrapper that seem to be gluten free but I haven't checked with the company yet.

anyways I just thought that I'd warn everyone
take care
Christine

Hi Christine,
Last time I checked which was a while now , the Angus were the only ones that are gluten free.  Seems like it must be at least 2 years now that Top Dogs send a notice to the Association saying they were changing their ingredients to include wheat.  Good hot dogs are hard to find.

Hi Christine,

I haven't actually checked with Maple Leaf, but my mom bought the top dogs with reduced sodium for my grandma who has congestive heart failure.  I read the package and there is no wheat listed in the ingredients.  I've had them twice now, and have had no reaction.  Perhaps you can check with Maple Leaf to see if these where the gluten free top dogs they were referring too.

Take care,

Maria

I found Harvest wieners are GF. They are also wrapped individually.

Hi Everyone,

I was driving down 97 street today and had to do a double take.  There is a new store opening called Gluten Free Mart.  It is on 128 ave and 97 street (in the same strip as Warp 2).  It is not open yet.  I am so excited!!  It's about time we have a gluten free store on the north end.

Cheers,

Maria

My husband and I also saw this new store and decided to take a walk down there.  We talked to a worker on site and the store is scheduled to open on September 1st! WhooHoo! How exciting! We really hope that the renovations they are doing goes well so we can go shopping there soon!

Sincerely,
Arlene
