Hey everyone!

I'm so excited to find out there is a Bulk Barn in Edmonton now. They
have a huge variety of different flours (coconut, soya, potato, chick
pea, etc. etc) as well as lots of prepackaged gluten free products.
They also show all ingredients on every bulk item. It's located near
the superstore in South Edmonton Common. Just wanted to spread the
news!

Not to send a rain cloud across your excitement Loni but be careful.

The CCA advises care when using bulk bins.  The concern is not necessarily because of the content of the bin but concern that the scoops being used may have been previously used in bins of food that have gluten and then be a source of contamination in the gf bins.

Kenn,

I am aware of this - I try and be careful and just watch for any symptoms when using bulk flours.  It's a personal choice whether you want to take the risk and I have been using their flours for three years now with no problems.  They are located away from the gluten flours which is nice.  Also, they have many prepackaged gluten free flours and other items as well.
