Know anyone in the Toronto area who wants to be a taste-tester?

If so, please pass this along. Let the rest of us know how it’s coming along.

Good morning Stephanie.  Thank you for your email asking us to consider gluten free products in our cafes.   We agree that it would be great if you could safely enjoy a treat with your coffee.  The good news is we are in fact testing a few different products that would meet your needs.  Are you by chance in the Toronto area?  If so I can direct you to cafes that have these products available.

Hi, I’m not writing about a franchise, so you might want to send this message to your regular customer service people.

I have celiac disease. I love your coffee and love to sit down and in your shops to enjoy them. What I don’t love is that I can’t eat any of your snacks. Even things like nuts or chocolate are off limits because you the package says that the products may contain wheat.

I realized saying they may contain wheat is a good way to limit your liability, but it’s no way to make a sale. Are the nuts really likely to have come in contact with gluten? The chocolate bars?

Given that about one in 133 people are celiac, you might want to stop limiting your ability to sell your products to such a large number of potential customers.

Check out your supply line. Consider how nice it would be for someone like me to grab a snack that boldly says “gluten free”. Now think of the multitudes of us who can’t eat gluten. We all have money to spend and bellies to fill. We just need people like you to provide the means.

Thanks.
