Hulu requires Flash Player 9.0.115.0 or higher. Please download and install the latest version of Flash Player before continuing.

It depends on the setting of your location...if non-USA...its a no go.
I used to set my location as USA to get around this but now set it as
Canada. Control Panel/Regional and Language Options to make changes.

That's not how it works. Your IP can be geo-mapped so that the server
end knows which country the client is located. If you're on a subnet
not assigned to an American subnet you are blocked. To get access you
need to use a proxy or VPN on a US subnet.
Thanks for the correct info. When I had Telus as my ISP I had no
problem with accessing USA-only stuff but since changing my ISP can
not do so. That would explain things. I thought it had to do with my
own computer settings. Nice to have a techie around.

For anyone interested here's what you do:
Install "hotspot shield" (Google it) and turn it on. This will give you
an American IP address. Some of the anonymous hotspot IPs are blocked by
hulu. If you get a blocked IP (hulu reports you're using an anonymous
proxy tool) then turn hotspot off/on to get a new IP. You can use
ip2loction.com to see the location associated with the IP. I got a
Milpitas (San Jose Calif) IP and the hulu link worked fine.

"Hulu is a website that offers commercial-supported
streaming video of TV shows and movies from NBC, Fox,
ABC and many other networks and studios."
But apparently not CBS.

The company blog explains:
In Mandarin, Hulu has two interesting meanings, each highly relevant to our mission.
The primary meaning interested us because it is used in an ancient Chinese proverb
that describes the hulu as the holder of precious things. It literally translates to
"gourd," and in ancient times, the hulu was hollowed out and used to hold precious things.
The secondary meaning is "interactive recording." We saw both definitions as appropriate
bookends and highly relevant to the mission of Hulu.
"
It's that secondary meaning that's the givaway. In the twisted logic of the day that means that
a major feature of Hulu internet appears to be it's (non) interactivity: it is a lock-down version
of what the Media Moguls think they can sell as the "American Package" in China.

So why bother with a pun in Mandarin??? The rights issues is they
just don't give a shit for any other markets.
