Is there such a beast? Would like to find one and use it on my older HDTV
from my new blue ray.

even though you said composite I'm assuming you mean component since you
mentioned an hdtv.

hmm wouldnt these convertors defeat the purpose of hdmi, i mean if it
converts it back to analog, how good the picture possibly be.

cheap, but a passive cable won't decode HDCP.

Don't most Blu-Ray players have various output methods including HDMI,
Component and Composite? (Mine does.....)
