New hot topic...........how is everyone handling this issue?

Basically we're not.  We are currently relying on the RNs to go back & enter stop times.  We are okay with start times as this is entered when they document administration on the MAR, but the nurses may not remember to go back and enter a stop time.  I am interested in how other are reminding the RN's to enter the stop times in the ED.

We are on electronic medical records and our infusions have hard stops to make the nurse document stop time but our pushes don't.  Is anyone being forced to document stop times on pushes? Especially in multiple repeat drug administration.  They state that you can't bill for the second same drug with no stop time because we don't want to start calculating the 30 min span.

Can you give more information on your hard stops in relation to documenting stop times?  thank you, Katie
