As highlighted by Scott Torrance, the Lean Launchpad course starts on September 14th.

Out of interest, how many of you think you will be enrolling in this course, and are there any plans to create an Edinburgh meetup/study group for participants?

Thanks

Mike

I am enrolled and would definitely be interested in a meetup/study group and would be happy to help organise it if there was enough interest.

Cheers

Scott

I've enrolled. (Thanks again Scott, for pointing it out).

I'd like that, though regular physical meetings get awkward to reconcile with other commitments and family life. Someone from my team has joined a study group that have weekly lunchtime meetings using Google Hangout. Would people be interested in that option?

I've enrolled.

I like the idea of a regular 'virtual' meetup on Skype / IRC /
whatever (never used Google Hangout...) plus occasional physical
meetups.

I think the virtual meetup might have a better chance of keeping the
momentum going

I think it is a good idea to give people two options as I agree with Rachel that the virtual option will have a better chance of keeping the momentum. Personally, my preference would be leaning towards the in-person sessions.

Let's see what everyone thinks.

I'll put the word out on social medja and see if there's any more interest.

Cheers

I definitely like the balance of both physical and virtual meetups.  Face to face is nice, but doing it on-line is so much more accessible to most people.
Really looking forward to this now... :)

I think online is more likely to work for me.

Hey everyone, just wanted to get a feel for the interest in the Lean Launchpad training.

So far I've only heard from roughly 6 people who have said they are signed up and would like to set up a study group (most opting for the on-line option).

If we want to get something organised we'll have to get a move on :)

Let me know your thoughts.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Scott

Hey guys I enrolled as well. I would love to meet face to face to work together. Part of my team is in Spain and we often work over skype and I think face to face is much better.

I've just enrolled as well. I have a copy of the book (Startup Owner's Manual). I'm good for in-person or online meetups.  Paul's lunchtime suggestion sounds good.

+1 Makes a small crowd.

Has anyone used Udacity before? Does it have any group tools?

Lunchtime Hangouts / F2F meetings are a great idea.

I like the idea of regular lunchtime hangouts and occasional face to face for those that can make it.

Thanks for your comment David,

Does anyone have any better suggestions than Google+? I have had a quick look on Udacity and it doesn't appear as if there is any group tools beyond the forums.

I see there are 9 sessions, there is usually one a week but I'm not sure for certain with this yin.

How do people see the study groups working, shall we keep the structure very loose in the beginning and just see how it progresses/develops? I think it would be great to work through some real life examples of the topics we are learning and hopefully help start-ups through some problems they may be having at the same time.

Still just working on getting a venue for a meetup, I think the lunch-time idea seems popular with people.

Cheers

Scott

Alright folks,

I've finally got sorted and have been going through the course.

Can I suggest a lunchtime meetup here in Techcube? I'm sort of
guessing its as good a place as any, and I can sort out a room here at
least (plus, I'm assuming several of us are doing the course).

Can people make it on Friday lunchtimes? Or are there any particular
days that people prefer?

I can't make this Friday, I'll be on a train. But generally that
should be good.
