IMP - inter hostel debate rules

Hi

After discussions with all the reps and all senior members of the club, these are the finalised basic rules of the inter hostel pd. They have already been discussed in the rep meeting today, and this is a summary.

1. We will have the 2X2 format

2. Nando and Bhatti will be the Chief Adjus. They will be deciding on match-ups. selection of adjus, motions, fixing runners, etc.

3. Motions will be semi-closed. 

4. Speaking time will be 6+1 mins in the initial round and the semi-finals. The finals will have 7+1 minutes. Closing will always be 3+1 minutes

5.1 irreversible substitution is allowed

6. We will have 2 pools - pool A and pool B. Best team of pool A meets second best team of pool B in the semifinals, and vice-versa. On the basis of seeding and a random draw of lots, the following pools were made in the meeting.

Satpura

one important thing - just got to know a big problem. all of SAC is booked for all the 3 days due to some conference. I was thinking to have debates in satpura and zanskar - where I think we can find 5 venues. Please suggest better alternatives if u can. 

the workshop is tomorrow (tuesday) in the Zanskar basement at 7:30. a mock debate and adju test will be on wednesday in Zanskar basement at 7:30 as well.
