Dear Friends and Readers,
A number of my manuscript stories-within-stories ended up on the cutting floor, so to speak. The story attached is one; it describes my friendship with a Chinese woman during our respective sojourns in Nashville, TN. When her government recalled her, she returned to Beijing, where I visited a few years later.
