Hi,
There are a number of the group staying for the weekend down in Lindisfarne and I thought it would be nice to meet up with them on the Saturday,12th October and do a walk for those that haven't been able to make it.
I haven't reccied the walk, but have always wanted to do it and it sounds wonderful from the description:
A Walk - 12.5 miles 1048 metres ascent.
The beautiful and remote College Valley runs, almost straight as an arrow, from the tiny hamlet of Hethpool to the very edge of England`s most northerly county. It has been described as one of the most awe-inspiring valleys in Northumberland and history oozes from the hills which roll down from the border. These are quiet hills which reach out towards the 601 metre high summit of the Schil, a hill which proudly greets tired Pennine Way walkers on the final few miles of their arduous journey. On this walk to and from that majestic summit, you will cross the little visited tops of Loft Hill, Saughieside Hill and Madam Law as well as the slightly more popular Black Hag, White Law, The Curr and Great Hetha. You will be utterly besotted.
The walk is described as Strenuous and so I've guaged it as an A walk and they reckon it will take approx 6 hours.
Taking that into account, an early start is advisable as it will take approximately an hour and a half to drive there. So, meet at Fairmilehead for 8 and we can arrange to meet with those who are interested from the Lindisfarne weekend group.

Please let me know your Rambler's number, or if this is one of your first walks with the group; advise of any medical conditions and ensure that you come fully equipped with waterproofs, suitable boots and a packed lunch/drink.
