Hello, me again,
Please see message/invite below from Edinburgh Young Walker Fergus
Watt. If you're interested in going, let me know please.
cheers
Colin
The second of EYW's volunteer weekends arranged for 2013 will be
assisting 'Trees for Life' at Dundreggan Estate near Fort Augustus.
On Saturday (8th June) we will be helping Trees for Life maintain the
estate, and this could involve a range of practical tasks including
tree planting, removal of non-native trees, ferilising trees, fence
removal, helping in the tree nursery & survey work.
A munro walk(s) will be organised for the Sunday, in this area we have
a wide diversity of walks available within a short distance of the
estate including the Glenshiel Ridge (7 munros in a day) and the 5
sisters of Kintail.
Trees for Life have requested a maximum of 15 volunteers and
accommodation (bunkhouse) has been provided at £15 a night.
With the location being miles away and not a short drive, I have come
up with 2 travel options to get to Dundreggan
Option 1
Travel upto Dundreggan leaving Edinburgh early on Friday the 7th of
June. On the way up look at doing a munro walk (tbc) and following the
walk head onto Dundreggan arriving late afternoon/early evening.
Option 2
Leave Friday afternoon (e.g. tea time and head straight to
Dundreggan).
If you want to come, please can you let me know if you want to do a
walk on the Friday or just head straight to the estate leaving Friday
late afternoon.
So if you want to join me please sign up to the event here and also
message me your details (name, Ramblers membership number. As always I
will also be needing drivers, walk leaders (for the Sunday) and cooks
so please also offer your services.
Any questions, please drop me a PM.
