Beinn an Dothaidh (near Bridge of Orchy)- Sunday 23 June 2013
A (Munro)
5/6 miles
Ascent 1004m (3294 ft)
Duration 5 hours approx
Although far less known that its neighbour (Beinn Dorain), some would say
it has the finer viewpoint, the cairn on the edge of the steep northern
side having a magnificent aerial panorama over Loch Tulla and Rannoch
Moor. The walk starts with a steady climb (crossing the West Highland
Way) and getting steeper up to the bealach - be prepared for some steep
and rocky ground.
Please bring waterproofs, walking boots, warm clothing and something to
eat/drink.
Meet at Fairmilehead at 8am. Please let me know your ramblers number (or
if 1st/2nd walk), your mobile number, relevant medical conditions and if
you can give a lift. My mobile is 07974 856440 and e-mail
ja...@mypostoffice.co.uk
Please note - numbers are limited to 10 on first-come, first-served basis.
Walk won't go ahead in poor weather or mist, instead I will do a 2-part
walk in Fife - Norman's Law (a Marilyn), 2 hours approx starting at
Luthrie near Cupar, then onto Newburgh to do Ormiston Hill, 2.5 hours
approx with beautiful views over the Tay. I will let you know by end of
the week.
