Hi All,

Future of EYW+ and a winter/spring walks request

EYW+, formerly Lothian Walkers, has now existed for 5.5 years, run by the same committee members over that time.

During this period the group has had many good walks and enjoyable weekends away, and a big thank you to all those who’ve led and organised them.  However, it has been apparent that we only have about 15 core members who partake of our walks, and the amount of time, effort, paperwork and Ramblers admin undertaken by the committee in providing these activities has become questionable in light of the small uptake rates. As a consequence of this, a decision has to be made as to whether we continue as a formally constituted Ramblers Group.

So, if you feel you could provide any help and/or increased participation (joining more walks and/or assisting with the committee) then please could you let me know by 12 July.  The response will inform the decision about whether to continue the Group or not.  Many hands would make light work.

The Winter/Spring Walks programme is due to be submitted for publication by 29 July. If you are willing to lead one or more walks, however short, long, high or low, from October to April, please let Judith and Ruth know by 12 July, judith...@ymail.com; rlo...@msn.com.

The current programme runs through into October and will continue to be run. The walks programme can be found in Trail (for Ramblers members), and also here: http://www.lothian-borders-ramblers.org.uk/groups/walk.html - this site is updated for any changes to the walks.

Regards,

Colin
