Hi All,
Please see details of Joanne's walk this Sunday, 8th September:

Kirkton Glen & Lochan an Eireannaich, Balquidder
Sunday 8 September 2013
B
8 miles
Ascent: 580m
Duration 4 1/2 hours approx

Haunted by outlaw and national hero Rob Roy, this walk takes the path behind his final resting place, the churchyard of Balquidder Parish Church and climbs steadily to Creag an Tuirc, the ancient meeting place of the Clan MacLaren.  It follows a good track through the forest for a few miles before emerging onto open hillside leading to the Lochan an Eireannaich (Loch of the Irishman), with great views of Ben More and Stob Binnian on a clear day.  We take a slightly different forest track to return to Balquidder where hopefully the tea-shop cum library will be open to serve us some of the well-known beetroot cake.

Please bring waterproofs, walking boots, warm clothing and something to eat/drink and note later start time of 9am at Fairmilehead.  Please let me know your ramblers number (or if 1st/2nd walk), your mobile number, relevant medical conditions and if you can give a lift.  My mobile is 07974 856440 and e-mail
