Hello everyone,

I'm leading Munro Ben Dubhcraig from Dalrigh between Crianlarich and Tyndrum, on Saturday 24 August.  Depending on progress and how folk feel, adding neighbour Ben Oss is possible.

This is a big walk so needs reasonable fitness and stamina. You’ll need to allow for not getting back to your front door before 8.30pm. So if you’re going out at night don’t sign up. The scenery’s varied, mix of forest including Scots pine, rivers, interesting bridge, waterfalls, open views. Over the top, Loch Lomond and the Crianlarich Munros.  If the weather cooperates.

Meet at Swanston Drive, where Fairmile Inn was, at 8.00am.

Info for both Munros:

Grade A

Distance 17.5km/10.75 miles

Time 8-9 hours

Ascent 1203m

Grid Ref NN343291

If the forecast looks poor, I’ll go to the Pentlands instead. I’m not going all that way to walk in mist and rain all day.

Please bring full walking gear including proper walking boots, waterproofs, hats, gloves, gaitors if you have them (for a boggy stretch quite early on, although should be able to bypass most of it), sunscreen, lunch and drinks, etc.

If you'd like to join me please email co...@tcgallacher.plus.com by Friday 23 July 6pm with your details including Ramblers number, or if you’re a trialist (1st to 3rd walk), mobile number, whether you’re willing to drive and take passengers, and any relevant medical conditions.

cheers
