(Early Report)
"Five
men were arrested and two men killed in a dramatic raid by armed police on
Ravelrigg Quarry in West Lothian tonight, in what is believed to be an
operation aimed at the Free Scottish Army. Police found evidence to suggest as
many as 40 men had been gathered there, and weapons including handguns,
shotguns and rifles were recovered. There is evidence to connect the group to
drug manufacture and dealing, as well as violent crime and terrorism.
Local
sources indicate that James Faulkner, who is currently under arrest, had been
seen at the scene.
A
police spokemen said, "Five men have been arrested and charged in a raid
on a property in West Lothian, following reports of gunfire. A hostage was
recovered who was being held by the group."
(Later
Reports)
"Police
report that a weapon manufacturing operating was discovered in a residential
house in Buckstone, Edinburgh. The two inhabitants, believed to be members of
the Free Scottish Army, fled in a black Landrover towards the M8, and eluded
police.
This
is believed to be connected to the earlier raid on the quarry in West Lothian -
where it has been confirmed the West Lothian Councillor, Isla Muller, was being
held hostage. As well as her local interests, Isla Muller is an SNP councillor,
and strong advocate for independance"
