Hey folks,

The NST team have asked me (and every other DST) to canvas the domain and get people's opinions on a couple of issues. This is a poll, rather than a debating issue, so they're looking for "I prefer option 1" not "how about this other option?".

With that out of the way, there are two questions they want me to ask. The first is about continuities, and the second is about draw mechanics.

Continuities: Would you prefer a shared chronicle, or a split chronicle? A shared chronicle is what we have at the moment, where the actions in one venue (like a housing block catching fire) can have repercussions in another venue, and where cross-venue interaction is strictly monitored. A split chronicle would mean that each venue had its own storyline, with its own rules on how things like cross-venue worked, and that when the mages do crazy things, the werewolves don't hear about it (because it's in a different continuity).

Draw mechanics: Would you prefer tabletop (many dice) or 8div3 (with double jeopardy) as a resolution mechanic? This is *not* a choice of full tabletop rules versus MET rules - the MET rules would be used regardless. This choice is merely about which mechanic we use to determine how many successes you score. If you're of a statistical bent, the full breakdown of mathematics can be provided, but 8div3 was shown to be the statistically closest one-draw mechanic to using the equivalent number of dice as I recall.

If it affects your decision at all, it has been announced that we will be having a five year chronicle, with creation XP in the range of 100-175 (MC-dependent), with a max earning rate of 5XP a month. We will also not be using the GMC rules by default.

I have been provided with a handy polling form to use at games, and I will be at every game this month unless something happens. If you prefer to email, please send a message to scotla...@gmail.com with the subject "NST Poll". Officially, the poll opens tomorrow, but I don't think anyone will mind too much if I start it a few hours early. If you would like to have your opinion recorded, I need to have it by Wednesday the 28th of May.

Cheers,
