I agree it's not really an auxiliary verb. I didn't notice it being
restored in the edit to the ず entry in July when I approved the edit.
Makino and Tsutsui (DIJG) classify it just as "aux", which is safe.
Unidic uses 助動詞 for ず, ない, etc.
Perhaps it would be safest to make it just "aux", and switch others
such as た and だ to that tag.
