Dear all

just found out that ず is tagged as 'auxiliary verb aux-v
It is not actually a verb, but an auxiliary (suffix) to a verb.
Can you create "v-aux" as a new TAG of 'Part of Speech' please?
Or could you delete 'aux-v' and leave only 'suf'?

What about other verbal suffixes?
Or, can you add to 'verbal auxiliary' as meaning of aux-v?
aux-v=auxiliary verb
 OR verb auxiliary

Thank you a lot to all of you for your comments and work,
best,
Marcella

Thanks, Marcella.

I agree it's not really an auxiliary verb. I didn't notice it being
restored in the edit to the ず entry in July when I approved the edit.
Makino and Tsutsui (DIJG) classify it just as "aux", which is safe.
Unidic uses 助動詞 for ず, ない, etc.

Perhaps it would be safest to make it just "aux", and switch others
such as た and だ to that tag.

Dear Jim

Thank you very much for your kind and prompt reply!
Sure, we'll use the safe 'aux' as Makino Tsutsui suggests :)

All the best,
Marcella
