A few people have raised the possibility of getting email feedback on
the progress of their submissions to entries. That's currently not
available, and there is a rather significant block at the moment.

These days it's quite difficult to provide a general email service
from the sort of cloud server we use for running the project. The
amount of spam and phishing means that the general email services
(Gmail, Outlook, etc.) are requiring increasingly complex validation
and certification arrangements before they'll accept emails. They are
also prone to blocking sites suspected of being spam sources (*).
Last year we had to make a number of changes in order to keep the
regular monitoring emails to my Gmail account working. Unfortunately,
we are not currently able to send emails to Yahoo or Outlook accounts,
and I am sure there are others. Frankly, I don't have the time or
energy to try and clear these blocks.

I have two ways of monitoring the progress of submissions:
- via the Advanced Search page
(https://www.edrdg.org/jmwsgi/srchform.py?svc=jmdict)
I select all 3 boxes in the Status set (Active, Deleted, Rejected) and
unselect Approved in the Approval set. That lets me see all the
entries with approvals in process.
- via the Recent Updates page
(https://www.edrdg.org/jmwsgi/updates.py?svc=jmdict&i=1)
I look at the most recent day or two and sometimes use my browser's
search function to look for "pending" to navigate to the entries with
edits in progress.

In the Advanced Search page, you can filter using the submitter's
name, and also search for text in the Comments and References fields,
which can be very useful.

I hope this helps.

(*) when I switched to the current server, Yahoo blocked it
immediately, claiming there had been "repeated complaints". Maybe the
IP address had previously been used by a spammer, but getting off a
blacklist is a major task.
