largely compared it to the US market. but a lot of fundamental differences are there in  India compared to US market.

 

it would certainly be foolish to say that there is no risk involved,

 

First of all currently all the Indian retailers are cash strapped and working capital choked so much that  the cost of the capital itself is hitting them in the gut.

The land availibility at a sustainable rate has become such a major factor that it is breaking or making the businesses,

alot of such factors are there which makes it imperative that investments are pulled in.

Very Nice article sir...

Need to focus on the situation of the farmers in our country

-less amount of land availibility { per capita}  as compared to that of US and the EU.

-we cannot bail out our agricultural sector  as the western countries did , as the current subsidies are playing a major role in the economy deficit.

-usage of the resources like water, quality seeds is also less as compared to them, can through some light on the productivity.

-and currently and near future  we are facing the food security problems, how we are going to tackle that.

I believe we should have a second thought before implementing the FDI in retail atleast as competition from china might also give a blow for the largest democratic country which is self reliant in the Agriculture.
