3 things for all you Edibles to know:

---lacinato kale!  was grown organically and may have some little green-grey bugs on the backside.  They are called aphids- and wash off quite easily!  They mean that the produce you are eating has not been sprayed with pesticides- a nice indicator of good practices.

--the rhubarb season is suddenly over due to the recent heat.  Instead, we have crimini MUSHROOMS!

--hayden mangos magically turn into HAMI MELONS due to a delivery accident.

--STRAWBERRIES: compare the flavor of these locally grown gems to the genetically engineered monsters you get at the stores.  Produce share strawberries are from Mick Klug Farms (St. Joseph, MI), and fruit share strawberries are from Ellis Family Farms (Benton Harbor, MI).  Notice the differences between the varieties, and stay tuned for later varieties of strawberries throughout this late spring and early summer.  yum, oh so very yum.

Stay tuned for weekly pickups happening right soon. Contact us with any questions, and enjoy your long weekend!

best,
Andrea, Dietrich, Coelti, Josh, Egon, and the rest of your EA crew
