A note on Ramps!

This week's ramps are wild harvested in northern Illinois' Lake county by chef Gale Gand. Ramps may be what tales of Chicago as the "land of wild onion" were referencing...  With broad, parallel veined leaves & a pink tinged bulbous stalk, ramps are garlickey and onioney all at once.  Chop and add to your dish in place of onions, or slice smartly in half and sautee in oil or butter to experience the whole flavor of the ramp. This is a midwest local food specialty and only comes once a year in early spring. Because of how they grow, ramps must be wild harvested--a true seasonal delicacy! Ramps are always in limited supply and we are excited to offer you a sample in this week's shares. Reserve yours before they sell out!

We need your paper bags & eggs cartons. For real! Bring them by Saturday as early as possible so we can pack them full of veggies & eggies.  Thanks a bunch!
