Hola from Guatemala!!!
We just finished our first international mobile kitchen! After 7 days of nothing but logistics, cooking, serving, and playing- we're quite happy with our amazing team and the smoothness with which we fed the festival. Now, we travel and learn some more recipes for our underground dinners. One of these days we should make a cookbook :)
We're enjoying the travel, but are really excited to return home to Chicago with some awesome new ideas and different sense of how to create community. :) and we can't wait to see you all!
As we reflect on the bounty, hardships, growth, and deliciousness of the past year, we look to the next in 2014. We realize we are only as strong, only as generous as the community that supports us. And we deeply thank you for your support through these past 4 years. While there's still a long ways to go, we have helped to change the face of locally grown food in Chicago. Organic food is more available than ever in our fair city. More growers are starting small farms using sustainable means of agriculture, while even more city dwellers are growing in backyards, tree lawns, and balconies. Food for the people. Connecting people through food. Growing communities with local nourishment.
Meanwhile, we have some great things in place already for the new year. New collaborations, playshops, and a new share program! The first time we're doing a thing of it's kind, we're looking to throw some consistency into the mix, and offer you a free share in the process, while helping you keep your kitchen stocked. We want you to stay connected, and keep the input flowing. We can't do what we do without YOU.
We sincerely hope that you have a fantastic new year and holiday season, and can't wait to see you when we return January 18th with some great shares in store.
So: scroll down for:

:::Edible Alchemy’s Winter Share Program!:::
We’re excited to announce our Winter Share Program! A 10-week veggie train that supplies your kitchen consistently without the extra task of having to order each week, plus the benefit of receiving $25 off the cost of ordering 10 whole shares. (That’s a share free!) Fruit Share Programs are available at $90 for 10 shares, in addition.
This all kicks off on January 18th, after our holiday break. Keep in mind that our winter shares will include as much local produce from our grower’s greenhouses and storehouses as possible, though a bulk of the produce will be certified organically grown in warmer climate zones. Meaning- tropical citrus and other fruits for the fruit shares and a wide range of warm-crop produce in addition to your potatoes, beets, onions, and squash from local farm barns.
Anyone can still order shares week to week. Additional items from EA’s larder can be ordered for delivery with your share by putting an order in on the webstore, or picking up in person at Eco.
On the same date, we’ve decided to raise the price of veggie shares to $25, but keep the fruit shares at $10. The costs of food have risen drastically since EA’s inception while our cost to you has no. The $5 added on will slightly increase the size of the share & allow for greater bulk of more items.
We'd love to hear your thoughts. We put together a quick survey for you to provide us with some really helpful feedback as EA grows and transitions. Thank you in advance! It is only 12 short questions, and should only take 3-5 minutes. http://bit.ly/II2jmm

Oye Guatemala! EA Underground Dinner 1/31/13
Food is integral to community. Eating around a table with others is an innately human form of communication, sharing, celebration, and connection.
We at Edible Alchemy wholeheartedly believe this, and have thus begun facilitating dinners to encourage connection through food. Our guests are connected to their food through stories, local farms, and the artists who prepare it. The food is sourced seasonally from local Chicago-area farms (within 200 miles, most within 50 miles) as much as possible, and anything else is certified organic. These immersive vegetarian dinner experiences focus on using local vegetables in traditional recipes to create a hyper-modern and truly delicious twist.
Support local.
Connect through food.
Come join us at our table, bring your friends & meet some new ones.
