BWB & BURN Community Grants Program seeks Volunteers 11/6!
Burners Without Borders and Bold Urban Renaissance Network (BURN) 501c3 are proud to announce the fourth installment of the Chicago Community Grant Program.
BURN raises money throughout the year from many events, and the grant program is a bold experiment giving every community member a chance help decide where the money we all work so hard to raise ends up going, and into which areas of Chicago we decide to direct our energy.
At the Dinner Salon, we will hear presentations from the top four grant applicants picked by our judges. Then the deliberation begins. All in attendance will get to vote on the project that we think should receive the grant money. After voting, we will feast on delicious food, lovingly prepared by Edible Alchemy, and have an opportunity to connect with other amazing Chicagoans who care about their community. Your $5-$10 donation goes directly into the grant pool that the winner will receive that evening, along with a generous contribution from BURN.
There are two ways you can participate:
1) attend the salon, watch the presentations, and help us decide which program to fund, or
2) The Salon depends 100% on volunteers, which means we need your assistance to make this evening happen! Anyone who wants to help set up, clean up, and/or prepare food, please fill out the volunteer form - http://tinyurl.com/CCGPFall2013VolunteerForm.
Mark your calendars!
When: Wednesday November 6th. Doors 6:30pm, presentations 7:30pm, dinner 8:30pm
Where: TransAmoeba Studios,1325 South Wabash, #101
Why: You can participate with direct action by being part of the decision making model for funding a grass-roots project that will benefit our city!
How: Donate $5-$10 which gets you dinner, a vote, and entrance to the event. Be inspired by wonderful presentations, vote, break bread with the community.
