Happy sunshine to you all. Thanksgiving is next week - our shares this Saturday 11/23 will have lots of fantastic goodies for you to enjoy for your holiday feast. Including- a pie pumpkin! (To roast it: cut in half, scoop out seeds, rub with a bit of oil, place face down on a baking tray with 1/4 inch water, and roast for 1.5 hours at 400 degrees. scoop out flesh, puree, and make something fantastic! )
What will you make? Portabella sage stuffing? Honeyed sweet potatoes? Mashed potatoes & celeriac? Pumpkin risotto? Cranberry Apple Sauce? Coconut pumpkin pie? Spinach & Portabella pie? Mulled pear cider with clove and orange? ....

This class will be fully hands-on, focusing on a few basic recipes that can be easily replicated for friends and family. We’ll try out everything we make in class. You’ll leave with samples of each and detailed recipes on how to make your favorites en masse at home! We’ll focus on using ingredients that are mostly available at stores here in Chicago, and can help point you to the perfect places to pick up what you need to make these great gifts. Some bulk ingredients will be available for students to purchase afterwards.
You’ll learn to make: Cinnamon Coffee Sugar Scrub, Scented-as-you-Wish Body Butter, Lavender Herb Deodorant, Herbal Bath & Closet Sachets, And have a great time doing it!! BYOB encouraged.
